Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened

- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups 12-ounce package Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
- 1 cup chopped nuts optional
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: The first step is preheating the oven to a temperature of 375 degrees Fahrenheit or 190 degrees Celsius.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt for now.
- Cream Butter and Sugars: In a big bowl, combine and thaw butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract till it is all blended and creamy.
- Add Eggs: Like, break an egg, add it into the mixture and beat well. Do it for every egg you have.
- Combine Ingredients: Beat in the flour mixture a little at a time until it is just moistened. If desired, stir in the chocolate chips and nuts.
- Scoop Dough: Take a rounded tablespoon of batter, make sure to lift the dough up and touch this on the ungreased sheets.
- Bake: The Cookies are put to bake for 9-11 minutes in an oven. For softer cookies 9 minutes are sufficient; if you want crispier cookies, then bake for 11 minutes.
- Cool: Finally, cool the cookies on the baking sheet for two minutes, lift the sheet and place them on wire racks to cool.
Notes
- Do not over mix the dough if you wish to have softer cookies and make sure to use room temperature butter.
- Even after the cookies are taken out of the oven, they will actually bake a little more while on the baking sheet, so take them out when they appear a little bit underdone in order to have cookies with a chewy center.
- You can freeze the cookie dough for three months. You should extend the cooking time by one minute if baking from frozen.
