Ingredients

  • 1 can pizza dough or homemade pizza dough
  • 24 slices of pepperoni
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese optional
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for greasing
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning optional
  • Fresh basil for garnish, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  • Prepare the Dough:
  • Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness. Use a round cutter or glass to cut out 12 circles large enough to fit into the muffin cups, pressing the dough into the bottom and slightly up the sides of each muffin cup.
  • Add Sauce and Cheese:
  • Spoon about 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce into each dough cup. Then sprinkle each with about 1 to 2 tablespoons of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Top with Pepperoni:
  • Place 2 pepperoni slices on top of each cup. If you like, you can add extra toppings like mushrooms, bell peppers, or onions.
  • Bake the Pizza Cups:
  • Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Cool and Serve:
  • Remove the muffin tin from the oven and let the pizza cups cool for a few minutes. Carefully lift them out of the tin and transfer to a serving plate. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan and Italian seasoning, if desired. Garnish with fresh basil.
